# Review the rough draft with the audio close.

Transcript by DepoStack Planned

Planned audio-synced review, with every change in your hands.

*The waitlist form is not reproduced here. A person joins at https://depostack.com/transcript/#waitlist: it is for the person themselves, with their own consent, and may ask for a human check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and confirmation by email, so an agent should send the person there rather than submit it for them. See https://depostack.com/auth.md.*

## Assistance should raise the question, not hide the judgment.

Rough-draft review can mean repeated listening, searching, and re-entry.

Review a rough draft alongside its audio

See uncertain words and choose which changes to accept

The reporter stays responsible for the text

- ### Every suggestion waits for you

The design treats every suggested word, speaker, or punctuation change as yours to accept, and nothing changes silently.
- ### What it may flag

We are exploring ways to flag uncertain words, untranslated steno, conflicting readings, and unclear audio. The result would still be a rough draft for you to review.
- ### Your audio and rough draft

The plan starts with your audio and your own notes or rough draft, using file types we have tested.

## We are modernizing tradition, not replacing it.

Software can take the mechanical work. The judgment, the authority, and the record stay with the professional.

- ### Rough draft

  **In the proposed workspace**

Uncertain words flagged by AI, never made to look finished

  **Stays with the reporter**

  Responsibility for the text
- ### Cassette

  **In the proposed workspace**

Each flagged passage beside the matching audio

  **Stays with the reporter**

Every accept, edit, or keep decision
- ### Pencil

  **In the proposed workspace**

Suggested word, speaker, and punctuation changes

  **Stays with the reporter**

Each change, which waits for you to accept it

## You review each step.

1. ### Check which files you can use

Before testing, we will explain which files you can use and how they are handled, so you can decide what to share.
2. ### Check the flagged passages

The planned app would put flagged passages beside the matching audio. You decide whether to change the text or keep it.
3. ### Return to the established workflow

The saved text would remain a rough draft for your usual editing, review, and certification.

The reporter certifies. The software never does.

## Read a sample draft against the audio.

This demonstration shows the idea: choose a line to hear its audio. You decide what to do with each flagged word.

Synthetic testimony Sample record, not a real case. A sketch of the proposed workspace: the flag is part of the sample, and no audio plays.

**Playhead**

4. Line 4 the fifteenth.
5. Line 5 Q. Who signed it?
6. Line 6 A. I did.
7. Line 7 Q. Can you hear me all right?
8. Line 8 A. Yes. You froze for a second.
9. Line 9 Q. I'll repeat the question.

**Flagged** 12:4, uncertain word “fifteenth”

The text stays as you wrote it. The flag only points; the call is yours.

Playhead at 12:4, 10:51:38. One word flagged.

## For the professionals responsible for the rough draft.

- ### Court reporters

Help us decide which ways of checking a draft against audio save time while keeping the reporter in charge.
- ### Firms and scopists

Help define the assignment, dictionary, and review steps around the draft.

## Questions.

**Is Transcript by DepoStack CAT software?**

No. CAT software translates steno into text. Transcript is designed for reading the rough draft against the audio.

**Will a draft ever be called final?**

No. A rough draft is never called final, ready, or certified, and the reporter stays the certifying authority.

**Can I use the review workspace today?**

The app is still being planned. Join the waitlist for updates; it does not give you an app to try or promise an invitation or release date.

**What happens after I send a request?**

We email you a link to confirm your address. No updates are sent unless this address is confirmed, and the link expires in 48 hours.

**Will there be online and desktop versions?**

We plan both online and desktop versions. Exhibits v0.2.2 is a Preview for Windows and Mac. The browser demonstration shows the controls; use the desktop app to save marked PDFs. We will confirm other products’ computer and browser support before testing.

**Can I take my work with me?**

We want you to be able to take your work with you. Before each product launches, we will explain which files you can open and save, where your work is kept, how long it is kept, and what can be deleted.

**How will pricing work?**

Before we charge for a product, we will explain its price, how often you pay, how to cancel, and what happens when testing ends. There is nothing to buy on this site today.
