# For freelance court reporters.

The proceeding is one part of your day. The rates, setup, review, and delivery are yours to carry, too. Start with the tools for the work in front of you.

*Your setup. Your judgment. Your finished record.*

## From the first rate quote to the final page.

A practical path through the work around the proceeding, with something useful at each stop.

1. Before the job

   ### Set the terms. Check the setup.

Put your rates in writing, work out the due date, and check what the assignment needs. Stenographic, voice writing, or digital: the checklist should fit your method.

   [Build your setup checklist](https://depostack.com/tools/setup-picker/)
2. After the proceeding

   ### Return to the source.

Read the draft against the audio. Resolve uncertain words and names before they become somebody else’s reference. AI can suggest a correction; the review still belongs to you.

3. At delivery

   ### Close the loop on the job.

Check the pages, delivery terms, and invoice against your own rate schedule. Keep a job log so the small pieces of production do not get lost between assignments.

The reporter certifies.
The software never does.

You make, review, certify, and deliver the transcript. DepoStack supports the workflow; it does not take over the record.

Prepare exhibit stickers and review the marked pages in the current Preview. Keep the final exhibit decision and record review with the reporter.
- [Transcript by DepoStack](https://depostack.com/transcript/) Planned

Planned to help you check a draft against its audio. You would still make the corrections and certify the transcript.
